How We Operate
AKAT offers contracts for loads transported within the USA and between Canada and the USA. To participate, please call 352-472-3343. It’s easy to get started. Once you have established your credentials with AKAT as a legal transporter, your authorized agents/employees will be given access to the AKAT loadboard, and each will be assigned a username and password for our system. Each agent account includes your company name, MC number, company contact information and agent’s email address as username.
Once registered, you can elect to receive notice via email about available loads or visit our loadboard, which shows key details at a glance:
• Load # and Description
• Pickup City & State
• Delivery City & State
• Hitch Type
• Mileage
• Weight
• Ready Date
• Pay Amount
To request a load, simply call our dispatcher, reply to a load-available email, or request directly from our loadboard with a single click!
Once you’ve requested a load, you will recieve an email saying your request is pending approval. More than one company may request a particular load. Our dispatcher will call you if your firm is the best transport match for that load, then send you an email with a transport confirmation form. This form is a legal agreement that contains Transport firm’s company data, along with customer supplied earliest pickup and latest delivery dates. The form itself collects:
Transporters Earliest pickup date and Estimated latest delivery date.
Name and phone of assigned driver
Name and title of person accepting load
Signature of person accepting load
Terms and conditions (shown below for your convenience)
The form is signed electronically on our website.
Once the Transport Confirmation Form has been received and reviewed AKAT will issue a “Final AKAT Transport Order” via email. The order contains all details about the load from the confirmation form, plus following information for the driver:
- Complete pickup (PU) & delivery (DEL) addresses
- PU & DEL phone number and customer or representative name
- PU & DEL location type - residence or business and name of business
- COD amount due when applicable
AKAT General Terms and Conditions:
Person accepting load by signature above or assigned driver **must** call customer or customer's representative prior to driver driving to pickup location, and verbally confirm that trailer is roadworthy, accessible and ready to hitch and tow from the location stated in order, and details regarding length, height, beam, weight and destination are accurate. If, having done this and driver drives to pickup location and load cannot be hitched or is otherwise not towable at no fault of the driver or driver's equipment, then AKAT will pay Transporter a cancelled transport fee (truck not used) to reimburse driver for time and expenses incurred. If Transporter's driver fails to arrive at pickup location on date and time agreed, AKAT may elect to cancel the transport order for that load. Transporter is responsible for insuring load and is responsible for any damages to load or trailer if applicable. Driver must contact AKAT to authorize any repairs, and should never solicit customer for additional fees.
AKAT Payment Terms:
AKAT Transport pays Transporters within 48 hours (2 business days) after reciept of verified Bill of Lading. Verified means Bill of Lading was signed by customer, attesting to no damage, has been received by AKAT as fully legible photo via email, and AKAT has verified Bill of Lading by phone with customer.
